TotalEnergies Marine Fuels Wins Marine Fuels 360 ‘Supply Chain & Logistics Excellence of the Year’ Award for its Biofuel Supply Chain Development in Singapore

Louise Tricoire, Vice President of TotalEnergies Marine Fuels, accepted the Award from Sukuma Verma, Managing Director for the Maritime & Energy Portfolio of Informa Markets, at a Gala Dinner held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, on 29 November 2023.

SINGAPORE, 1 December, 2023 – TotalEnergies Marine Fuels is proud to announce it has won the Marine Fuels 360 Supply Chain & Logistics Excellence of the Year Award for the establishment of its commercial marine biofuels supply chain in Singapore.

The award recognized the swift professionalism and level of safety, quality and operational excellence with which TotalEnergies Marine Fuels built up an integrated biofuels supply chain during the course of 2022, from its first bunker operation trial in March 2022 to its first commercial bunker and term contract with Hapag-Lloyd in January 2023.

Marine Fuels 360 judges, which included top shipping business and regulatory executives,  also praised TotalEnergies Marine Fuels for its collaboration with a broad array of partners to quickly create a supply chain fully integrated in line with the highest sustainability standards, in the world’s busiest shipping hub.

“I am honoured to accept this award on behalf of the whole TotalEnergies Marine Fuels team, which has worked so hard to deliver a state-of-the-art biofuel supply chain and commercial offering in Singapore,” said TotalEnergies Marine Fuels Vice President, Louise Tricoire.

“I would like to recognize the organizations and companies with whom we collaborated and coordinated in the past 18 months to make this biofuel supply chain a reality in Singapore,” Louise added. “We are in particular, grateful to our customers, *industry collaborators and the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for their support throughout this development process.”

“I would also like to thank Marine Fuels 360 for its support, through this award, of our drive to develop and offer alternative sustainable low-carbon fuels for the shipping industry as it strives to decarbonize.”

The success of the Singapore biofuels network and offer is spurring TotalEnergies Marine Fuels to establish similar supply chains in Europe, with trials underway in France.

The award underscores TotalEnergies Marine Fuels’ position at the forefront of a rapidly changing global bunker industry. As a key player in the marine biofuels, LNG and biogas markets, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels contributes proactively to shipping’s decarbonization. It is also an active and collaborative partner in joint initiatives and international associations to help ensure a safe and reliable future fuels mix is available at scale, in particular in the field of e-fuels.

TotalEnergies Marine Fuels’ Singapore Biofuels offer:

We offer Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) blended with up to 24% second-generation, waste-based and ISCC-certified Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester (UCOME). The biofuel component is considered second-generation and waste-based because it is cooking oil derived from natural sources that has already been used once. As such, not only is the biocomponent recycling waste, it also avoids the competition for and impact on arable land that some other biofuels instigate. The guarantee that our biofuels adhere to these high standards is provided by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC).
