It was a proud day for everyone involved as we officially named our new LNG Bunker Vessel – Gas Agility – at a recent ceremony in the Port of Rotterdam.

Her naming marked the culmination of 3 years of dedicated hard work between ourselves, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and Hudong-Zhonghua shipbuilding in Shanghai.

As she prepares for a new chapter of operational life, Gas Agility represents a major development in global marine LNG fuel supply.

She is the World’s largest LNG bunker vessel and a clear demonstration of our ongoing drive to develop key logistical LNG infrastructures in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

We are at the forefront of helping the world’s shipping industry make the move to LNG - a more sustainable fuel solution for today and the gateway to tomorrow’s marine fuel solutions – and she is a representation of this.

“Gas Agility is an integral part of the global Maritime Industry’s drive for cleaner fuel operations. Indeed, she represents a major development in the LNG market, and illustrates our unequivocal commitment towards better energy,” said Jérôme Leprince-Ringuet, Managing Director of Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions.

She is highly maneuverable by design, with a length of 135 meters. Her technical supremacy is marked by key features including the very latest Mark III membrane containment system provided by French company GTT. She also meets the highest technical and environmental standards, using LNG herself as propulsion fuel, and integrating a complete re-liquefaction of the boil-off gas.

Through Gas Agility, we can start extending our strategy to new horizons. Adding her to our combined LNG fleet is again proof to our customers, relations, authorities and the shipping industry globally of the ongoing commitment of our business to drive innovation and offer a solutions-based approach to our customers around the world.

Our collaboration with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and Hudong-Zhonghua shipbuilding in Shanghai continues with work having already started on our next LNG Bunker Vessel. Due to be delivered in 2021, once operational she will be positioned in the Marseille-Fos area in France to supply LNG as a marine fuel within the Mediterranean region.
